Change the amount of time between an outage happening and the first notification

This time lapse is called the Trigger Time and you can adjust it however you like. By default, it is set to two minutes, so if you have an outage that lasts less than two minutes no alert message will be triggered. It should be noted that we do not recommend shortening your trigger time below two minutes in most cases, this will only result in a higher volume of alerts that are already resolved by the time you can respond to them. We would only recommend shortening the trigger time significantly on essential and reliable servers.

To change the trigger time:

  1. Select Incidents > Alert Timelines from the navigation menu.

  2. Select the Alert Timeline that you want to edit. You should see something like this on your screen:

3. Click an event (gray box). A modal will open up where you can configure the trigger time. You can also add new notification events that will notify more people based on how long the outage has lasted. To do this click Add New Alert Event.
