Metric Rollup

The Metric Rollup widget is used for showing the current status and historical availability of multiple metrics across different instances in one consolidated row. You can scope the results to specific instances and metrics using tagging. Also, optionally enable/disable several columns that show availability statistics in aggregate.

Use case

The Metric Rollup widget is useful when:

  • You want to display the current status and historical availability of several metrics.

Examples

In this example, the status, availability, and outages of several metrics are displayed in the widget.

You can also hover your mouse to an incident to show the details. Selecting the Incident ID will redirect you to the incident's page.

Configuration

When creating or editing a widget, a drawer that shows the widget's configuration options slides out from the right. Each configurable option is described in the following table.

Field

Description

Widget name

Name of the widget as it appears on the dashboard.

This field shows the default name of the widget. Select the pen icon to rename the widget.

Service name

Name of the service/metric.

Select the pen icon to rename the service/metric.

Metric Types

Add the metrics that you want to display. You can search by metric name or by category.

Metric Tag Filter

Add specific metric using metric tags.

Instance Tag Filter

Add specific metrics using an instance’s tag.

Add Service

Select the Add Service button to add another row to the widget.

Data Points

Select which data points you want to show or hide.

Values:

  • Service

  • Status

  • Availability: 24 hours

  • Availability: 7 days

  • Outages: 24 hours

  • Outages: 7 days

Dashboard Scoping Adherence

Enabling this option will allow you to bypass Dashboard-level scoping.
