Force a DNS update after an IP address change

Changing an IP address can be a delicate process and we want to make it as easy for you as possible. The last thing you want if for your server to have a false outage for the duration of your TTL because the cached IP address is no longer accurate. Fortunately, we have you covered.

You will need to go to that server's Instance Details page on your FortiMonitor account. Select Flush DNS from the menu as seen below:

This will flush the local DNS resolver’s cache on our monitoring nodes, forcing our servers to contact the authoritative DNS and cache the correct IP address.
