I/O

The I/O plugin allows you to monitor the percentage of CPU time during which I/O requests were issued to the device. In order to have access to this plugin, you will need to install the sysstat package to your server. The process for installation is different depending on OS, so follow the process per your needs.

To add an I/O agent resource to your server first see Add FortiMonitor Agent checks if you have not already.

Control Panel Configuration

First, select I/O from the Linux category.

There are a number of available metrics.

Metric

Unit

% of I/O CPU time

%

Average I/O request service time

Read requests per second

Read requests queued per second

Write requests per second

Write requests queued per second

If you would like to inspect the I/O plugin in more detail you can find the python script for it in /usr/lib/panopta-agent/plugins/io_stats.py.

If you have any additional questions, please contact our support team.
