Cassandra

The Cassandra plugin allows you to monitor a number of metrics that provide insight into the performance of your distributed databases. If you can not find this plugin in the /usr/lib/panopta-agent/plugins folder, then your version of the Agent is out of date and you should update it to gain access to this feature.

If you haven't read Add a monitoring agent resource yet, do that first.

Agent Configuration

If you installed Cassandra via repositories you will not need to edit the Agent configuration file and add the following configuration. However, if you did not install via a repository, then you will need to specify install_location in the agent config file (

/etc/fm-agent/fm_agent.cfg

):

[cassandra]
cassandra_installed_location = /home/yourname/apache-cassandra-2.0.8

Control Panel Configuration

After making this change give the agent a few minutes to connect with FortiMonitor’s servers, then you should see the new server resource available to add for your server in the control panel.

If you have not already, read the Add FortiMonitor Agent checks article to learn how to set up monitoring for any agent plugin. To use the Cassandra plugin, first select Cassandra from the monitoring catalog.
