Sendmail

The Sendmail plugin allows you to monitor the queue depth of your Sendmail MTA server.

Control Panel Configuration

Select the Sendmail plugin from the monitoring catalog. To add this resource, please see Add FortiMonitor Agent checks.

Additional permissions

Additional file system permissions may be needed if you are encountering problems when collecting data from Sendmail metrics. Resolve this issue by granting permission to the panopta-agent user to run Sendmail -bp.

  1. Run the following command as root to edit /etc/sudoers.

visudo /etc/sudoers

2. Add the following line:

panopta-agent ALL=NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/sendmail

3. Save and exit the file.

4. Running the Sendmail command may also require sudo privileges. To configure the command to use sudo, open your Agent configuration file (/etc/panopta-agent/panota-agent.cfg) the add the following:

[sendmail]
use_sudo = 1
