Amazon EBS

The Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) integration allows you to monitor your Amazon EBS service through FortiMonitor.

To add the Amazon EBS service to your FortiMonitor account:

  1. Follow the instructions provided in Connecting FortiMonitor and CloudWatch.

  2. Under Services, select EBS.

The following table describes the metrics supported by FortiMonitor for EBS.

Provides information on the read operations in a specified amount of time.

Volume Write Bytes

Bytes

Provides information on the write operations in a specified amount of time.

Volume Read Ops

Count

The total number of read operations in a specified amount of time.

Volume Write Ops

Count

The total number of write operations in a specified amount of time.

Volume Total Read Time

Seconds

The total amount of time (in seconds) spent by all read operations that completed in a specified amount of time.

Volume Total Write Time

Seconds

The total amount of time (in seconds) spent by all write operations that completed in a specified period of time.

Volume Idle Time

Seconds

The total amount of time (in seconds) when no read or write operations were submitted.

Volume Queue Length

Count

The number of read and write operation requests waiting to be completed in a specified amount of time.

Volume Throughput Percentage

Percent

The percentage of I/O operations per second (IOPS) delivered of the total IOPS provisioned for an Amazon EBS volume.

Applies to Provisioned IOPS SSD volumes only.

Volume Consumed Read Write Ops

Count

The total amount of read and write operations consumed in a specified period of time.

Applies to Provisioned IOPS SSD volumes only.

Burst Balance

Percent

Provides information about the percentage of I/O credits (for gp2) or throughput credits (for st1 and sc1) remaining in the burst bucket.

Applies to General Purpose SSD (gp2), Throughput Optimized HDD (st1), and Cold HDD (sc1) volumes only.
