Back up FortiGuard packages

Back up FortiGuard packages

Optionally, you can back up your FortiGuard packages (for example, Web Filter or IPS). Creating a backup of FortiGuard packages allows you to re-import the packages in cases of upgrade failure where the FortiManager needs to be reset/formatted or downgraded to an earlier version. Without a backup, the packages will be downloaded from FortiGuard.

This is recommended in scenarios where FortiManager is acting as the FortiGuard Distribution Server (FDS) for managed devices operating in a closed network.

To export FortiGuard packages:
  1. Go to FortiGuard > Query Services > Receive Status or FortiGuard > Packages > Receive Status.

  2. Select the FortiGuard packages that you want to export.

  3. Click Export in the toolbar.

You can find more information in exporting and importing FortiGuard packages in the FortiManager Administration Guide.
