FortiManager Firmware Upgrade Paths
The following table identifies the supported FortiManager upgrade paths. If you need information about upgrading to 6.2, 6.4, or 7.0 see the corresponding FortiManager Upgrade Guide.
As a best practice, it typically is recommended to upgrade to the latest patch version before upgrading to the next major version. For recommended upgrade paths from a specific version, see the Upgrade Path tool on the support site.

FortiManager 7.2.3 and later firmware have not been uploaded to FortiGuard in order to workaround a bug in the GUI. Please see the special notice section entitled, FortiManager 7.2.3 and later firmware on FortiGuard, in the 7.2.3 release notes for an explanation. Fortinet provides two methods for querying the recommended upgrade path. The first is available within the FortiAnalyzer GUI. This method will not show a complete upgrade path due to the missing firmware images on FortiGuard. The second is through the Fortinet Support site at the following link: https://support.fortinet.com/Download/FirmwareImages.aspx. Customers may query their desired path, make a note of it, manually download the images from the Fortinet Support site, and perform the upgrades. |
