Configuring outbound settings in Office 365

Finally, configure an Office 365 connector to relay outgoing mail to FortiMail.

  1. From the Exchange administrator center, go to Mail Flow > Connectors > Add a connector.

  2. Set Connection from to Office 365, and set Connection to to Partner organization, and select Next.

  3. Enter a Name and Description for the connector, and select Next.
  4. Enable Only when I have a transparent rule set up that redirects messages to this connector, and select Next.
  5. Configure the IP address or FQDN of the FortiMail, and select Next.
  6. Enable Any digital certificates, including self-signed certificates, and select Next.
  7. Review the new connector settings and select Next.
  8. Select Validate. Office 365 will perform the steps necessary for successful validation.
  9. When it's finished, select Close. The Status section will show as Succeeded. Select Save.

Your incoming and outgoing messages will now be protected by FortiMail.

It's advised to take the time to apply FortiMail AntiVirus and AntiSpam profiles as appropriate.

Note

If you choose, you may safely disable Office 365 Anstispam services, if you regard it as no longer required.

Configuring outbound settings in Office 365

Finally, configure an Office 365 connector to relay outgoing mail to FortiMail.
