Securing outbound email from Google Workspace

In this recipe, you will configure Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for secure outbound email through FortiMail.

For this configuration, FortiMail operates in Gateway mode to perform as the secure outbound email gateway for messages originating from the Google Workspace email server.

Once you have linked your Google Workspace account to the FortiMail unit, you will then configure access control and recipient outbound policies on the FortiMail unit for outbound email.

Note

At the time of writing, some topics reference Google's help section titled Set up an outbound mail gateway. It is recommended that you check the Google help page for any subsequent updates.

Note

FortiMail can scan internal to external email, however there is currently no support for internal to internal scanning.
