Creating normalized interfaces
Create the following normalized interfaces:
Name |
Mapping |
Notes |
---|---|---|
lan | port5 | LAN-facing interface on all devices |
lo-HC | lo-HC | Health-check loopback on Hubs |
Map the LAN-facing interface according to your environment. We recommend using Per-Platform Mapping.
Normalizing an interface associates an object interface, which exists only in FortiManager, with a physical interface on the FortiGate.
To create normalized interfaces:
- In FortiManager, go to Policy & Objects > Object Configurations > Normalized Interface.
- Click Create New.
The Create New Normalized Interface pane is displayed.
- In the Name box, type a name, such as lan.
- Add a per-platform mapping for lan.
- Under Per-Platform Mapping, click Create New.
The Create new Per-Platform Mapping dialog box is displayed.
- In the Matched Platform list, select all.
When you select all, a default mapping rule is created.
- In the Mapped Interface Name box, type port5.
- Click OK.
The per-platform mapping is created.
- Under Per-Platform Mapping, click Create New.
- Click OK.
The normalized interface is created.
- Repeat this procedure to create a normalized interface named lo-HC.
