This section identifies major changes in the Log Reference from version 6.2.0 and later.

FortiOS 6.2.1

New log types

  • File Filter was added as a new log type with a log category ID of 19.

Subtype changes

  • In the App log type, the app-ctrl-all subtype was split into the following event types: signature, port-violation, protocol-violation.

New log types

  • Secure Socket Layer (SSL) was added as a new log type with a log category ID of 17.
  • Common Internet File System (CIFS) was added as a new log type with a log category ID of 18.

Subtype changes

  • In the Event log type, the following changes were made:
    • A FortiExtender subtype was added. In the FortiOS GUI, you can view logs sent from FortiExtender units on the Log & Report pane.
    • A connector subtype was added to log dynamic address changes for SDN connectors.
  • In the Antivirus log type, the following changes were made:
    • A malware-list subtype was added.
    • The botnet subtype was deleted.
  • In the IPS log type, the botnet subtype was added.
  • In the Email log type, a file_filter subtype was added to log filtering based on metadata (file type).
  • In the Webfilter log type, a file_filter subtype was added added to log filtering based on metadata (file type).
