Connecting the FortiGate-6000F to power

Use the following steps to connect the FortiGate-6000F to power after connecting the appliance to ground.

  1. Use the supplied C15 Power cables to connect each PSU C16 power connector to a surge protected power supply.

    For optimal operation and redundancy all three PSUs should be connected to different power supplies.
    You can also install power cord clamps into the back of the chassis beside each PSU. Install the clamps by inserting them into the holes adjacent each supply at the back of the chassis. Use the clamps to secure the AC power cords so they are not accidentally disconnected.

  2. As the FortiGate-6000F powers up, the status LED flashes green.

    Once the FortiGate-6000F has started up and is operating correctly, the front and back panel LEDs should indicate normal operation (see Confirming startup status).
