Reboot

Reboot

Requirements: Windows, macOS, or Linux.

The reboot action enables you to restart a managed node. This action eases upgrades by allowing you to reboot a device on demand to apply software updates.

The reboot action can be executed manually, as described in the following instructions, and automatically through policies. When you perform this action on Windows and macOS devices, the FortiDLP Agent informs the user associated with the managed node that an administrator is restarting their device and allows them a small grace period to save their work. When you perform this action on Linux, you immediately initiate a reboot. For manual reboot actions on Windows and macOS, you also have the option to force a reboot and immediately restarts these devices.

Note

When rebooting a Linux device using legacy actions, the action state does not progress to "Executed" when the device is restarted. Instead, the action state remains as "Received".

For information about action states, see Action results and statuses.
