Resetting internal operator account passphrases
FortiDLP allows internal operator account passphrases to be managed as follows:
- An operator (administrator) can send a passphrase reset email to an internal operator.
- An operator (administrator) can generate a passphrase reset link for an internal operator.
- An operator (administrator) can prompt an internal operator to change their passphrase at their next login.
- An internal operator can change their own passphrase during a FortiDLP Console session.
- An internal operator can reset their own passphrase before starting a FortiDLP Console session.
How to reset an internal operator's passphrase
- In the FortiDLP Console, on the left-hand sidebar, click .
- Under Authentication, select the Operators tab.
- In the All operators table, select the row of the relevant internal operator account.
- Do one of the following:
- To send a passphrase reset email, click Send passphrase reset email.
- To generate a passphrase reset link:
- Click Generate passphrase reset link.
- Click Copy link and provide the link to the operator.
- Click Generate passphrase reset link.
- To prompt the operator to change their passphrase at their next login:
- Click Require passphrase reset on next login.
- Click Save.
- Click Require passphrase reset on next login.
- To send a passphrase reset email, click Send passphrase reset email.
How to change your own internal operator passphrase
- In the FortiDLP Console, on the left-hand sidebar, click your avatar.
- In the account menu, select My profile page.
- In the Current passphrase field, type your current passphrase.
- In the New passphrase field, type your new passphrase.
- 1 uppercase letter
- 1 lowercase letter
- 1 number
- 1 special character.
- In the Confirm new passphrase field, type your new passphrase again.
- Click Reset passphrase.

How to reset your own internal operator passphrase
- Go to your FortiDLP Console URL.
- Click Forgotten passphrase?.
- In the Email address field, type the email address associated with your internal operator account.
- Click Send reset link.
