FortiDLP Administration Guide

FortiDLP supporting operators

FortiDLP supporting operators

Supporting operators are Fortinet employees—such as sales engineers, support engineers, or customer success managers—who have been granted access to FortiDLP by the tenant's administrator to provide assistance.

The tenant administrator controls supporting operators' access to the tenant, which is time-bound, revocable, audited, and for a specified reason, for example, to investigate a support case.

Access management

If you contact Fortinet Support for guidance with FortiDLP and a supporting operator is required, Fortinet will generate a corresponding access request. This request, which details the scope of the access needed and the reason for it, is then shown in the Operators tab's FortiDLP supporting operator access table for your review.

To help you manage supporting operator access, a request is shown with one of the following statuses. In order to approve, deny, or revoke access for a supporting operator, you must have the appropriate permission (see "Supporting Operators" permissions detailed in Operator roles).

Investigation statuses
Status Description
Pending The access request has not been acknowledged.
Active The access request has been approved.
Denied The access request has been denied.
Revoked The access request has been revoked after initially being approved.
Expired The access request period has expired.

Note

One FortiDLP supporting operator is required to set up a newly created tenant. In this situation, the supporting operator will be granted automatic access to the tenant for three months with the "Built-in/Global Administrator" role.

The tenant administrator will be able to view and control this operator's access from the moment of onboarding.
