Auto-archiving inactive users

Auto-archiving inactive users

To enable or disable auto-archiving rules for inactive users, follow these steps.

You can also manually archive users. For more information, see Manually archiving and unarchiving users.

How to enable auto-archiving of inactive users
  1. In the FortiDLP Console, on the left-hand sidebar, click .
  2. Under Users, select the Auto-archiving tab.
  3. In the Auto-archive users section, do the following:
    • To enable auto-archiving of inactive users:
      1. Turn the Auto-archive inactive users toggle on.
      2. In the Days field, type a number of days. For this duration, if a heartbeat is not received by FortiDLP from a node associated with the user, the user will be auto-archived.
      3. Click Save.
      4. Note

        Users archived by this rule will transition from Active to Archived.

    • To enable auto-archiving of inactive users pending enrollment:
      1. Turn the Auto-archive inactive users pending enrollment toggle on.
      2. In the Days field, type a number of days. For this duration, if the user is not associated with an enrolled node, the user will be auto-archived.
      3. Click Save.
      4. Note

        Users archived by this rule will transition from Pending enrollment to Archived (never enrolled).

How to disable auto-archiving of inactive users

To disable auto-archiving rules, follow the steps below.

  1. In the FortiDLP Console, on the left-hand sidebar, click .
  2. Under Users, select the Auto-archiving tab.
  3. In the Auto-archive users section, do the following:
    • Optionally, to disable auto-archiving of inactive users, turn the Auto-archive inactive users toggle off.
    • Optionally, to disable auto-archiving of inactive users pending enrollment, turn the Auto-archive inactive users pending enrollment toggle off.
  4. Click Save.
