Configuring credentials for your scans

You can configure the authentication information needed for accessing systems being scanned so that the detector can automatically log in to the systems with the appropriate authentication method. The server encrypts and saves the credentials for each system.

To configure the credentials for your scans:
  1. Go to Credentials.

  2. Click ADD CREDENTIALS.

  3. If you selected All Organizations in the Organization dropdown list at the top of the GUI, you can select which organization that the credentials will belong to.

  4. In the Credential Type dropdown list, select SNMPv1/v2c, SNMPv3, SSH, Telnet, VMware ESXi SOAP API, VMware vCenter SOAP API, or Windows.

  5. In the CIDR Allow List, enter the IPv4 addresses or CIDR addresses for the systems that these credentials are for. Enter each address on a separate line.

  6. In the Credential Name field, enter a name for these credentials. This field is required.

  7. Depending on the credential type, complete the options available. For example:

  8. In the Description field, enter a description of these credentials.

  9. Click Save.

    The new credentials are listed in the Credentials page.
