Creating an organization

Use organizations to assign scans to various departments, business units, buildings, and teams. You can create three levels of organizations.

Before you assign users to a specific organization, users belong to the Default Organization. The Organization dropdown list at the top of the FortiDevice screen shows which organization is currently being displayed and allows you to switch to a different organization. The name for the Default Organization cannot be changed.

To add an organization:

1. Go to Organizations.

   

2. Click NEW.

   

3. In the Organization Name field, enter the name of the organization.

4. If this organization is a sub-organization, enter the name of the parent organization in the Organization Parent field or select No Parent.

5. In the Stale Assets field, enter how many days to keep online and offline assets in the inventory for the organization.

6. In the Stale Scan Configuration field, enter how many days to keep online and offline scans in the inventory for the organization.

7. In the Notes field, enter a description of the organization.

8. Click Save.

9. In the confirmation box, click ADD ORGANIZATION.
