FortiDeceptor DaaS supports the following account types:

User account

Description

FortiCloud Standalone Account The standalone account refers to the fundamental FortiCloud account, which is associated with a single registered master account and does not possess an Organization license or affiliation with any Organization Unit. For more information, see FortiCloud Standalone Account.
FortiCloud Organization (OU) Account FortiCloud Organizations are a centralized account management service that consolidates multiple FortiCloud accounts into Organizations and Organizational Units (OUs). For more information, see Organization Portal.

As a third party, an MSSP can alleviate the strain on IT teams, as well as free up crucial time the organization needs to support and expand operations. For more information, see What Is A Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP)?

FortiCloud Standalone Account

FortiDeceptor DaaS Cloud fetches the asset management and IAM/Sub users’ profiles from FortiCloud. The logged-in user can manage the registered DaaS resources and view incident details in the FortiDeceptor DaaS portal, subject to their assigned permissions.

FortiCloud Organization (OU) Account

The FortiCloud Organization (OU) account uses the Organization Portal as a centralized account management service that consolidates multiple FortiCloud accounts into an Organization and Organizational Units (OUs).

FortiDeceptor DaaS Cloud fetches the organization structure from the FortiCloud Organization. The logged in user can switch to any sub-OU under the account access scope. DaaS administrators have deeper access control for each FortiCloud IAM user and sub-user with the profile assignment in the FortiDeceptor DaaS platform.

Note

The organization structure diagram only appears when an IAM user is logged in.

FortiDeceptor DaaS MSSP Account

A FortiCloud standalone account, can be converted to a FortiDeceptor DaaS MSSP account. This account type behaves as a target to create a separate client management system in DaaS for those MSSP users who do not want to use the OU system, so they can directly manage their clients as IAM users and resources on their own account.
