Create Resource Group in Workload Protection

Resource Group is a container that holds various resources that the profile is entitled to on FortiCWP.

In Workload Protection, a resource item is access to cloud accounts (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and monitoring data.

Global Admin, Admin, Configuration Admin, and Cloud Provision Admin can decide what combination of resources to be placed in the same resource group.

FortiCWP utilizes regex rules in pattern matching. for more information on regex syntax and pattern matching examples, please see Appendix C - Regex Syntax Rule .

  1. Go to ADMIN > Resource Group from Workload Protection navigation menu.
  2. Click +Create New to create a new resource group.
  3. Give a name for the resource group and description.
  4. In Add Account section, select By Rule Matching.
  5. In Account Name field, enter the regex and press Enter.
  6. For example, "ttt.*" entered here to captures all account names that starts with "ttt")

  7. Click Account Platform drop down menu and select the account platform. (An account platform must be selected to filter the account names)
  8. For Example, "Google Cloud" is selected here to capture only Google Cloud accounts.

  9. Click See Matched Account to verify the accounts that will be added, and click Ok and Close.
  10. Click Create Resource Group to finish creating the resource group.

When there are other cloud accounts added to Workload Protection with similar names, it will be captured by the regex rule and included in the same resource group.

  1. Go to ADMIN > Resource Group from navigation menu.
  2. Click +Create New to create a new resource group.
  3. Give a name and description for the resource group.
  4. In Add Account, select Specify Account.
  5. Click Select Account drop down menu to select cloud account(s) to be added to the resource group.
  6. For example, AWS is selected here to include all the accounts under it.

  7. Click Create Resource Group to finish.
