Collections

FortiCWP offers collections database to store configuration values for Policy. In order to configure Policy, information needed to be stored in Collections first before proceeding to policy configuration. To access Collections, go to ADMIN > Collections.

User Collection

FortiCWP users can be used to create user collection for Policy configuration. To create User Collection, follow these steps:

  1. Click on +Create New button in User Collection.
  2. In User Collection Name field, give a name for the user collection.
  3. Click User(s) in this User Collection drop down menu to search and select a FortiCWP user(s)s to add.
  4. Click on Create New User Collection to complete creating the new User Collection.

IP Collection

IP can be added to IP Collection to associate with a policy or allow list.

  1. Click on +Create New button in IP Collection.
  2. In IP Collection Name field, give a name to the Collection IP.
  3. Fill in IP address and related info.
  4. Click +Add New to add more IP addresses. (Optional)
  5. Click on Create New IP Collection to complete adding new IP Collection.

File Collection

Targeted files on cloud accounts can be added as file collection through file path in Regex.

  1. Click on +Create New button in File Collection.
  2. In File Collection Name field, give a name for the file collection.
  3. In File Path field, enter a Regex for the file path to be added, e.g. \*.doc, etc.
  4. Click on Create New File Collection to finish creation a file collection.

Compliance Collection

Compliance Collection can be used to monitor specific data pattern at a specified location using compliance policies. To setup Compliance Collection, first set up an associated policy, then create a Compliance Collection with the file path created earlier.

Step 1 - Setup Associated Policy

  1. Go to Policy > Compliance from navigation pane.
  2. Select a policy related to file monitoring, e.g., SOX/COBIT - access to sensitive data, and expand it.
  3. Click on Compliance Collection drop down menu, and select the compliance collection(s) that the policy would be associated with.
  4. Click Save Changes to complete.

After the associated policy is setup, go back to Collection to finish setting up Compliance Collection.

Step 2 - Configure Compliance Collection

  1. Select the targeted Compliance Collection, click the Action button and select Edit Compliance Collection.
  2. Click on Associate with Data Pattern drop down menu to select the desired data pattern to monitor.
  3. Click on Associate with File Collection field to select the File Collection setup earlier.
  4. Click on Save Changes button to complete the configuration for the Compliance Collection.

Repeat the steps above for all the Compliance Collection targeted for the Compliance Policy.

  4. Click on Save Changes button to complete the configuration for the Compliance Collection.

Repeat the steps above for all the Compliance Collection targeted for the Compliance Policy.
