The Cloud Protection license seat is equivalent to 1 virtual machine. The Data Protection Standard/Advanced are add-on service of the license plan.

Only for FortiCloud Contract Users: The FortiCloud license subscription receives an extra 50% VM buffer when the current license subscription depleted.
For example, if you purchased 100 VMs of license subscription coverage, and when all 100 VMs are exhausted, the system will keep protecting an additional 50 VMs before it stop working - at which point you will be required to purchase additional license. . (Not available for AWS Subscription users)

If you have both FortiCloud Contract and AWS Marketplace Subscription, there is no 50% buffer. Instead it will be counted as extra usage or extra VMs under AWS Marketplace Subscription. |
