Proxy settings

Proxy settings

The <proxy></proxy> XML tags contain proxy-related information. If a proxy server configuration is required for Internet access, use the fields here to specify that configuration so that FortiClient's functions can use Fortinet's Internet-based services. Only FortiClient-originated traffic uses these settings.

Enable Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP). Enable if you are using an SCEP server and a proxy server exists between FortiClient and the SCEP server.

<virus_submission>

Enable virus submission to FDN. Enable if an SMTP proxy server exists between FortiClient and Fortinet’s virus submission servers. Used when you submit for analysis or submit as false positive.

<type>

The type of proxy being specified. Enter one of the following:

  • HTTP
  • SOCKS4
  • SOCKS5

The proxy server's IP address or FQDN.

<port>

The proxy server's port number.

Port range: 1 to 65535

If the proxy requires authentication, specify the username. Enter the encrypted or non-encrypted username.

If the proxy requires authentication, specify the password. Enter the encrypted or non-encrypted password.
