Upgrading to FortiAP-S and FortiAP-W2 version 6.0.5
FortiAP-S and FortiAP-W2 version 6.0.5 support upgrading from FortiAP-S and FortiAP-W2 version 6.0.0 and later 6.0 patches.

The second generation FAP-221E and FAP-223E devices can be upgraded from 5.6.3, 5.6.4, 6.0.1, or later firmware versions. |
Downgrading to previous firmware versions
FortiAP-S and FortiAP-W2 6.0.5 support downgrading to FortiAP-S and FortiAP-W2 6.0.0 and later 6.0 patches.

The second generation FAP-221E and FAP-223E devices cannot be downgraded to 6.0.0, 5.6.2, or earlier firmware versions. |
Firmware image checksums
To get the MD5 checksum code for a Fortinet firmware image, perform the following steps:
- Go to the Fortinet Support website.
- Log in to your account. If you do not have an account, create one and then log in.
- From the top banner, select Download > Firmware Image Checksums.
- Enter the image file name, including the extension. For example, FAP_S221E-v600-build0233-FORTINET.out.
- Click Get Checksum Code.
