VDOMs and ADOMs

VDOMs and ADOMs

FortiADC supports multi-tenancy and administrative separation through Virtual Domains (VDOMs) and Administrative Domains (ADOMs).

  • VDOM (Virtual Domain)

    • Creates multiple independent FortiADC instances on a single device

    • Each VDOM has its own configuration, enabling multi-tenant deployments

    • Supports independent or shared networking modes

  • ADOM (Administrative Domain)

    • Provides logical separation with shared infrastructure

    • Limits admin access to specific applications or configurations

  • Role-based administration

    • Admins can be restricted to specific VDOM/ADOM only

    • Global admins manage all domains and system-wide settings

For more information, see Virtual Domain in FortiADC Administration Guide.
